What you get

Premium designs

6 designs

Full worked designs with the architecture, requirements, trade-offs and follow-up questions, for problems where the hard part isn’t scale.

  1. Researcher–Participant ChatScale is easy. The hard part is authorization the chat service doesn't own: study lifecycle, a participant who must stay anonymous, and staff who must see everything without becoming the leak.(premium)
  2. AI App Builder / LovableThe model writes code nobody reviewed and you run it, npm install included, on shared machines. How do you get a preview in seconds without a bad generation breaking the user's app, or one tenant's code reaching another's?(premium)
  3. ChatGPTEvery reply holds GPU memory for as long as it streams, and GPUs are the one resource you can't add by the weekend. How do you keep the first token under a second for a million streams in flight, and degrade the free tier before any paid reply stutters?(premium)
  4. RL Environment PlatformThousands of episodes must start from the same state in seconds, run whatever commands a model chooses without reaching the grader or the internet, and finish before the GPUs go idle waiting for the slowest one. An infrastructure failure scored as a zero becomes training signal. How do you make the reward trustworthy and the fleet fast at once?(premium)
  5. ElevenLabsEvery request needs a GPU, and the listener hears every millisecond spent waiting for one. How do you start audio in a few hundred milliseconds, in any of millions of voices, keep a costly fleet busy, and charge exactly once?(premium)
  6. FigmaA Figma file isn't text. It's a tree of millions of objects, each with dozens of properties, edited by up to 200 people at once and streamed at 30 updates a second while someone drags. Text-editor answers, OT or a character CRDT, solve the wrong problem, and the file may not even fit in the browser tab. How do you make every copy converge, lose nothing, and open fast?(premium)

Premium concept modules

2 modules

Modules beyond the free foundations, starting with the Interview Playbook: the 45-minute round phase by phase, with minute budgets, weak and strong answers side by side, and the rubric you’re graded against. Then Building with LLMs: fifty terms for building with language models, from tokens to shipping.

Premium technology pages

2 pages

The deep pages on the systems designs lean on most, starting with PostgreSQL and Kafka: what each one is, what it’s good at, the moment it becomes the right answer, and what interviewers push on.

Courses

1 course

Courses that build one real system end to end, a working layer per lesson, with the real code, architecture diagrams and self-check questions. Courses added later are included.

Listen

70 pages

Any page read aloud in your browser’s voice, highlighting each paragraph as it goes, and carrying on into the next page if you want.

Researcher–Participant Chat, read aloud

Researcher–Participant Chat

Two strangers, one of them anonymous, allowed to talk only while a study says so, at a scale where the hard part is policy rather than throughput.

Script

21 designs

Each design played out as a 45-minute interview round: what you say, what the interviewer asks, and coaching notes, phase by phase with a time budget.

  2. Estimate3m
  3. API and data model5m

Questions

What stays free?

Everything that isn’t marked with a lock: the concept modules other than the Interview Playbook and Building with LLMs, the technology pages other than PostgreSQL and Kafka, the other designs and the whole coding track. Premium adds to the atlas; it doesn’t take anything away.

What does lifetime mean?

One payment covers every premium page and feature for as long as the atlas runs, including ones published after you buy. There is no renewal and no higher tier.

Will the price change?

Yes, upwards. $9 is the early-access price, and we plan to raise it to $19 as more premium pages are added. Buying now gets you everything, including what’s added later, without paying again.

Can I see what’s in a premium page before buying?

Yes. Every premium page stays listed in the sidebar with a lock, and opening it shows what it covers, section by section.

Can I get a refund?

Generally no: premium pages open as soon as you pay, so try the free pages and the premium page outlines first. We consider refunds case by case for anyone who hasn’t used the premium pages, and we always put right or refund anything that goes wrong on our side.

Why do I need to sign in?

Your purchase is kept on your account, so Premium opens on any device you sign in on. Payment goes through Stripe; the atlas never sees your card.
